Local Missions

Great Kills Moravian Church treasures its heritage and strives to continue to share Christ’s good news by living Christ’s good news, trusting that God is present in our work and ministry. We carry the love out of the walls of our building with several outreach ministries:

Food Pantry

We gather food on a weekly basis and deliver that food to Food Pantries on various parts of the Island.

Safe Horizon Christmas Giving

Each year we receive the names of adults and children who are at risk from domestic violence.  Our members choose the names and go Christmas shopping on behalf of that Child of God.  The gifts are returned and piled in front of the Church to remind us how many of God’s children are in need of our loving care, and then delivered in time for Christmas!

Project Hospitality

Each Christmas we decorate a bare tree with new gloves, scarves, and mittens for the clients of Project Hospitality, an outreach ministry shared by all the faith communities of Staten Island. We occasionally deliver food there and participate in other ministries as needed.

Joyful Noise

“Loose change” gathered the last Sunday of each month, supporting various agencies and ministries of the denomination and local Staten Island community.
